WHEN HELPING HURTS
Compassion Fatigue: Burnout, Secondary Traumatic Stress
First Responders and PTSD
Being in the helping profession, you are called upon to respond to individuals and families in crisis on a daily basis. You understand the immediate and long term impact that exposure to trauma has on your clients yet
most do not understand, or ignore, the personal and professional impact this exposure has on your overall wellbeing.
This workshop will provide individuals with the necessary education on Compassion Fatigue, secondary traumatic stress and burnout. Facilitated by a peer, Joddie Walker interweaves theory and research with her own traumatic stress experiences from working with crime victims and mass terrorism response.
This dynamic speaker shares her own personal experiences to help bring hope to those whose role it is to bring hope to others.
